Our systematic program of research examines policies and programs to address diet-related health inequities
Research from the FIG Lab advances our understanding about how social services and policies, as well as food systems and the food environments in our communities, may influence health and nutrition.
8 Current Projects
Our projects focus on the implementation and evaluation of community-based nutrition and health innovations under two main research areas (Food is Medicine and Farm-to-Food Assistance).
15+ Team Members
Our lab engages stakeholders across multiple sectors, including community advocates, policymakers, practitioners, scientists, and students.
10+ Partnerships
We are honored to have established key partnerships in search of policy and community-based solutions to address diet-related health inequities.
We are a bridge between evidence and action.
The FIG Lab aims to generate evidence that can be translated and adopted by communities and institutions. The research team designs testable conceptual frameworks, measures, and multi-faceted research studies to understand how policy, systems, and environmental factors influence diet- and health-related outcomes. We then translate this evidence into recommendations for partners and policymakers and use research findings for advocacy, education, and training.”
