Gwyneth (Gwyn) Frederick
Ph.D. Candidate
Gwyn (she/her) is a second-year Ph.D. student in Community Nutrition. She comes to Ithaca with a background in farm work, a B.S. in public health nutrition from Ohio State University, a Master of Public Health from University at Albany, and several years of experience as a lead program evaluator for NYSDOH SNAP-Ed. At Cornell, Gwyn aims to research how food system structures, policies, and funding can be leveraged to address health, dignity, and economic equity for both BIPOC and minority producers and consumers. She is also interested in who makes the decisions during food procurement, who produces the greatest dietary diversity in agriculture, and who deserves quality foods during the distribution process. In her free time, Gwyn enjoys crafting, thrifting, gardening, and spending time travelling and adventuring outdoors with her partner.
